Ralston Collins King
Leadership
Ralston Collins King began his work in government affairs representing clients before the Virginia General Assembly in 2009 with a small boutique consulting firm, Whitehead Consulting, representing various industries from healthcare, energy, and housing. Ralston then served as Chief Lobbyist and served as Assistant Vice President for Government Affairs with the Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) which is the trade association for the 30,000 physicians in Virginia. Following MSV, Ralston served as a Manager of Government Affairs with Fortune 500 company, Capital One Financial, serving as lead lobbyist for Texas, Maryland, New York, and Louisiana. In 2021, Ralston King joined the Virginia Automobile Dealers Association (VADA) in 2021 as the Vice President of Legislative Affairs.
Ralston is a past member of the Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP) Partners Board. VPAP is a nonprofit that elevates public understanding of politics and government by organizing and presenting information in ways that are easily accessible and free of partisan bias. Ralston is also a graduate of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce MENTOR Richmond leadership program. He previously served as President of the Kappa Alpha Order, Zeta Chapter, Alumni Board. Ralston recently served as an advisor for an electric vehicle capstone project for the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Ralston is a native of Richmond and has a bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon College. Ralston was an all-conference golfer for four years at Randolph-Macon College. Ralston received his Mini-MBA from the University of Richmond in 2011. Ralston lives in Richmond with his wife, Betts, and has two sons.
